Once a month, every competition newcomer plays alongside an experienced player. You don't pick your own flight — and you go home with people you didn't know before.

At the Fox & Rabbit every newcomer to competitions is paired with an experienced player. He gets nothing out of it but the round.
Your companion — the club calls him the Fuchs — walks the nine holes of your first competition beside you. What you both do is set out step by step below.
You play individual Stableford over nine holes, counting for handicap, up to handicap 54.0. The class from 36.0 to 54.0 is scored.

The draw
You
You enter — that's all. You don't pick your flight or your fox.
Your fox
The committee puts the flights together: by lot, by handicap, mid-high-low or alphabetically. That's exactly why you go home knowing people you didn't know before.

You
You tee off, you ask, you play — nine holes, scored quite normally.
Your fox
He keeps your scorecard and explains rules, routes and etiquette. Up to handicap 36.0 he plays without scoring: his result doesn't count that day.

You
You read each other's cards out loud — he wrote yours, you wrote his.

Marker and player both sign. Two signatures, one card — then it goes to reception.

The prize-giving
You
Everyone stays — even those who won nothing.
Your fox
Miss the prize-giving and you lose your prize; it says so in the competition terms. That's why the whole flight sits together at the end.
In the end it's one card — with two signatures.

- Pay the entry fee at reception and pick up your prepared scorecard — about an hour before your tee time.
- Swap cards on the first tee: your assigned marker takes yours, you take a flight partner's.
- Write down the score at the next tee, so the green stays clear.
- After the round, read the scores out to each other — marker and player both sign.
- Hand the card in at reception. Done.

A hole that goes wrong costs you a hole — not the round.
We play Stableford: points count, not strokes. As soon as no net point is possible on a hole, pick up your ball and move on. That's not giving up, that's the rule — and the reason nobody gets held up. On the eighth, a Fox & Rabbit field averages more than nine strokes on a par 5 and still scores points.

The card goes straight to reception. It only counts as handed in once the flight has left reception again.

The prize giving follows right after the competition. If you are not there in person, you have no claim to a prize — it passes to the next player. That is why everyone stays.

A Fox & Rabbit needs as many experienced players as there are beginners entered. Without foxes, it doesn't happen.
You walk the nine holes, keep your rookie's card and answer everything that's unclear on a first competition day: when to write things down, where the trolley goes, when to pick up. That's all — and that's all it takes.
Up to handicap index 36,0, competition companions play without handicap relevance: your round that day does not count for your handicap.
